Here are some suggestions of things to do in the Winchester area for those of you who are bringing a non-banjo-playing companion along to camp. They won't be lacking for entertainment around here, that's for sure!
Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
Old Town Mall: a walking mall with many good eating places and funky stores, Loudoun Street
Stonewall Jackson's Headquarters (near Old Town Mall)
George Washington's Office (near Old Town Mall)
Patsy Cline Museum (near Old Town Mall)
Lots of thrift stores all over the place!
Other shopping further out of town:
Creek Side Station: Lots of good shopping especially for women. Several good restaurants. Includes Chico's, Talbots, Harvest Moon Health Food Store.
Apple Blossom Mall: It's the kind of mall you'd think of when someone says "mall".
Eating places, all fairly near:
Many, many choices on the Old Town Mall including pizza, Mexican, sushi, Thai, etc.
Applebees (in front of Wal-Mart)
IHOP (in front of Wal-Mart)
